Our Story
CARELL as a private company, run by the Carellis family for more than 60 years, since its very inception in Alexandria, Egypt in 1955.
Having had an international outlook since the very beginning, the company emigrated to Piraeus, Greece where it has been running for the majority of its lifetime.
Being one of the oldest companies in the ship repair sector in Greece, through constant effort, we have managed to offer high end quality services with direct communication to our management team due to our flat corporate structure and low prices benefiting from the current Greek economic conditions.

HISTORY
Leonidas Vas. Carellis
Founder
Leonidas V. Carellis started the ship repair works in Alexandria 60 years ago and after leaving Egypt, he established his company in Piraeus. Due to hard work and marketing in European companies, the business expanded rapidly and has served thousand vessels to date.
Vasilis Leon. Carellis
Managing Director
Vasilis L. Carellis established CARELL S.A. as a continuation of the “Carellis” works founded in 1955 . Since acquiring his degree in Marine Engineering, he has been involved in Marketing and Managing the firm. His main goals are to provide a thorough service, while encouraging improvements and new developments in the ship repair domain.
Leonidas Carellis
Project Manager
Leonidas, along with his brother are the 3rd generation of the company. He possess an MEng in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and an MSc in International Finance from the HEC Paris. He is mainly involved on the technical side of the ship repairs, overseeing the management of the projects, both from a technical and an organizational acumen.
Haris Carellis
Commercial Manager
Haris, is the youngest of the Carellis family. He oversees the commercial and financial side of the company. He holds a BSc in Management and Business Administration from Athens University of Economics and Business and an MSc in Shipping, Trading and Finance from Cass Business School, where he graduated with distinction. His previous engagements in banking and specifically at DNB bank have helped him improve both the commercial and the financial management of the company.
